SECTION 1. Following is a
brief synopsis of the
Documented healing and Non
Toxic Qualities of the Polar
Polar Powder Coldpak is a new class of paramagnetic Nano-composite. It is the first cold pack to have each particle magnetically charged. It is a Powder not a gel, crystal or liquid. It is environmentally friendly, completely safe, Bio-degradable, Non-Toxic from a Resin Based compound that absorbs and emits a gradual release of cold from a frozen (yet soft) state. The Frozen Coldpak creates Millions of Microscopic “ice cubes” which do not bond into a block, hence the release rate is 1/3 that of ice or gel packs. This is the reason Polar Powder can be Applied directly to the Skin (some exceptions, e.g. rash) for extended periods of time. Further due to its Light Weight, Soft Touch Qualities and ability to Conform to All Appendages, no additional unnecessary pain due to hard surface / too cold / non-confirming shape is created.
Polar Powder is a completely Non-Toxic product used by hospitals, clinics, physical therapists, eye surgery clinics and doctors. It is re-useable for Arthritis, Pain / Swelling (Sports Injuries), Lower Back Pain / Spasms, Migraine Headaches (Stress), Poor Circulations, Sore Muscles and other Pain Related Maladies.
Polar Powder’s resins are Magneto Hydro Energetically (MHE) charged which enables Magnetic Healing Properties per a “Study / Report” from MIT, Barry University and the University of Kentucky which concluded that Magnetic Technology Does generate Enhances Pain Relief, Accelerated Healing & Increases a person’s range of motion / improves circulation = Faster Recovery.
SECTION 2. How Polar Powder’s Magnetic Therapy Works and what Medical Experts have to say about Magnetic Therapy.
"Magnetic energy has a beneficial effect on blood circulation, lymph flow, hormone production, nerves and muscles." Dr. Ulrich Warnke, MD - Magnets To Overcome Pain. The New Healing Method
"Our players have used magnets for two years and they have proven to be an effective aid in the recovery of professional football's aches, pains and injuries." Ryan Vermillion, MD, Director of Rehabilitation for the Miami Dolphins
We have tested magnets on more than 5,000 patients and there is absolutely no doubt… the treatment works!" Robert Holcomb, MD, Assistant Professor a Neurology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center
"It is hoped that the use of magnetic energy can he kept non-prescriptive for easy availability for home and self use." Dr. William H. Philpott, MD - New Hope: Magnet Therapy
"This is a revolution in the therapy for muscle injuries, joint pain and posture problems. We have treated 4000 patients with whiplash injuries by means of the magnets and cured 80 percent." Dr. J. B. Baron, MD, Medical Convention at Baylor College of Medicine, Texas
"Magnets have proven effective for more than 80% of patients... In some cases such as carpal tunnel syndrome. . the success rate is 95%. There's no doubt about it - millions of people can be helped from chronic pain by the use of magnets." W. Bradley Worthington, MD, Former President of the Tennessee Society of Anesthesiologists
"The application of a magnetic field has the virtues of simplicity, freedom from danger and low cost. It offers the lay man or woman a suitable form of self treatment for the minor ills of everyday life." Dr. Evelyne Holzapfel - Magnetic Therapy
"The magnetic field will in due time develop into a powerful new analytic and therapeutic tool of medicine." Dr. Madeleine P. Barnothy - Biological effects of Magnetic Fields
SECTION 3. Mechanism of Action
Polar Powder Coldpak material remains in powder form when frozen which allows it to adapt to the applied surface and provide a comfortable soft application. The Powder is a resin based compound that absorbs and releases cold. It is the most effective slow dispenser of coldness to tissue due to its gradual release properties. The microscopic resin crystals absorb 60^ of their weight in liquid.
When Polar Powder Coldpak is put in the freezer, the liquid molecules freeze inside each resin crystal creating millions of “little ice cubes”. The ice crystals do not bond into a block of ice because the liquid is absorbed in the resin, thus preventing contact. The transfer rate is 1/3 that of ice or gel packs which is why Polar Powder Coldpaks can be applied directly to the skin (in most cases except for sensitive skin /rash areas). Polar Powder Coldpak melts at a specific temperature and remains at the pre determined temperature for an extended amount of time throughout its cooling cycle.
Optimum healing temperature for prolonged cold therapy application is between 36 degrees F and 54 degrees F thirty to forty-five minutes. Polar Powder Coldpak does not feel as intensely cold or biting as other cold packs (gel & ice) so it provides a better treatment.
SECTION 4. How Polar Powder tm Cold Therapy Works. Cyro-therapy (Cold Therapy) is a widely used therapeutic treatment for musculoskeletal injuries and other painful maladies. Cold causes an immediate release of endorphins, a vascular constriction (10 to 20 minutes) and a vascular dilation (15 to 20 minutes) This process stops or greatly reduces pain, slows down swelling and the allows the blood to carry the fluid and toxins that have been released.
reduces metabolism in tissue
to relieve the deleterious
effect of ischemia (a lack
of blood supply in an organ
Cold serves to remove heat from the localized area of treatment. Therefore, the applied method of therapy must be cold enough, and remain cold long enough, to effectively reach the deep tissue for the prescribed time.
Additionally it must conform or mold to the body in such a way as to give adequate coverage. For example, when treating a joint such as a knee, elbow, wrist or foot and ankle cold should be applied so it goes completely around and extends a little beyond the joint or area of treatment.
Polar Powder's unique formula allows it to remain flexible so it easily molds to the body.
Pain and muscle spasms are common responses to injury. Tendons and ligaments are tissues that connect muscles and bones to each other and to other tissues. The basic building material of muscles, tendons, and ligaments is a protein called collagen. Under normal conditions, collagen acts like a rubber band: It stretches when tension is applied (as when we pull a rubber band) and returns to its normal length when the tension is released. However, when the collagen is stretched too far, it tears. In this tearing process, blood vessels are torn and blood cells and fluid escape into the spaces among the muscle fibers. This is sometimes visible on the surface of the skin as a swollen, bruised area.
Cold applied to the area decreases the flow of this fluid into the tissues and slows the release of chemicals that cause pain and inflammation. Cold decreases feeling in an area by reducing the ability of the nerve endings to conduct impulses. It may also reduce pain by "countering" the injury. Cold also decreases the activity of cells to reduce swelling and internal bleeding at the site of acute injury. Cooling the deep tissue also reduces muscle spasm by reducing the muscle's ability to maintain a contraction (contractility).
